Taper Roller Bearings in Mumbai

Cone-and-cup bearings for combined radial and axial loads in wheel hubs, axles, gearboxes and spindles.

Taper roller bearings have tapered rollers running between conical raceways, so they carry heavy radial and axial loads at the same time. They are usually fitted in pairs, facing each other, and their running clearance is set when they are mounted. You will find them in vehicle wheel hubs and axles, differentials, gearboxes and machine-tool spindles.

Each bearing is a cone (the inner ring with its rollers and cage) and a separate cup (the outer ring). We supply metric series such as 302, 303, 320, 322 and 323, and inch cone-and-cup sets on request.

Buying tips for taper roller bearings

  • Quote the full number. A metric bearing such as 30205 is normally supplied as a matched cone and cup.
  • Inch bearings have separate cone and cup numbers, for example LM11949 / LM11910. Send us both.
  • Taper roller bearings work in pairs and are adjusted on fitting. Replace both bearings of a pair together.
  • Check whether the old bearing is metric (five digits, such as 30205) or inch (cone and cup numbers) before ordering.

Questions

Taper Roller Bearings: frequently asked

What is the difference between the cone and the cup?

The cone is the inner ring with the rollers and cage. The cup is the separate outer ring. A metric bearing such as 30205 is normally supplied as a matched cone and cup.

Can I replace only the cup or only the cone?

It is better to replace them together, because a new cone running in a worn cup wears out quickly. For inch bearings the cone and cup have separate numbers, so tell us both.
