FAG bearings in Mumbai
Genuine FAG bearings from our Kalbadevi counter: single pieces or bulk, with express delivery across Mumbai.
FAG is one of the oldest names in rolling bearings, from Schweinfurt, Germany, and is now part of the Schaeffler Group. FAG spherical roller and deep groove bearings are a common specification in Indian process plants.
We supply genuine FAG bearings sourced through authorised channels. Popular FAG sizes come from our shelves, and anything else in the FAG range can usually be sourced within 24 to 48 hours.

How to read FAG part numbers
Current FAG (Schaeffler) designations join the basic number and each suffix with hyphens, so a sealed, C3-clearance 6205 is written 6205-2RSR-C3 and a common spherical roller bearing 22208-E1-XL. Older FAG boxes and catalogues sometimes use dots instead (6205.2RSR.C3). Both refer to the same bearing.
22208-E1-XL
- 22208: spherical roller bearing, 222 series, 40 mm bore (08 × 5). Size 40 × 80 × 23 mm.
- -E1: FAG’s reinforced internal design with higher load capacity.
- -XL: X-life, FAG’s premium quality grade.
The FAG codes you will see most often:
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
2Z, 2ZR | Metal shields on both sides |
2RSR | Rubber contact seals on both sides |
2HRS | High-performance rubber seals on both sides |
C3 | Internal clearance greater than normal, written -C3 |
E1 | Reinforced internal design (spherical roller bearings) |
XL | X-life premium quality grade |
TVH, TVP | Glass-fibre reinforced polyamide cage |
M, MB | Machined brass cage |
K | Tapered bore (1:12) for an adapter sleeve |
FAG and INA are sister brands. Both belong to the Schaeffler Group. FAG covers most ball and roller bearings, while INA is best known for needle roller bearings, drawn cups and cam followers. You will often see both names on the same delivery.
Same bearing, other brands
Every maker writes the same bearing differently. Here is a sealed 6205 with C3 clearance (25 × 52 × 15 mm) in each brand’s own style, so you can match a FAG part number to its equivalent in another brand, or the other way round. Always check the full suffix before swapping brands.
| Brand | Sealed 6205, C3 clearance | Seal code |

| SKF | 6205-2RSH/C3 |

| FAG | 6205-2RSR-C3 |

How to spot a fake FAG bearing
FAG spherical roller and deep groove bearings are widely copied, especially the popular 222 and 223 series. These checks catch most fakes:
- Scan the code with OriginCheck. Schaeffler’s free OriginCheck app reads the Data Matrix code on FAG packaging and tells you whether it is genuine.
- Check the number’s style. FAG uses its own suffixes, such as 2RSR, E1 and XL. A box marked FAG with another maker’s codes, such as 2RS1 or DDU, needs a closer look.
- Match the bearing to the label. The designation on the ring should match the box exactly.
- Look at the markings and finish. Genuine markings are sharp and even, and the rings are cleanly finished. Rough edges or blurred lettering are warning signs.
- Question the price. X-life spherical roller bearings offered far below the market rate are a classic counterfeit pattern.

Where FAG bearings are used
FAG spherical roller bearings, especially the 222 and 223 E1-XL series, are a standard choice for conveyors, crushers, vibrating screens, paper machines and large fans in Indian process plants. FAG deep groove ball bearings go into electric motors, pumps and gearboxes, and FAG angular contact bearings into pumps, compressors and spindles. Send us the full number from the old bearing, including its suffixes, and we will match it.
