NU 2224 Bearing – Size, Stock & Today’s Price

The NU 2224 is a cylindrical roller bearing with a 120 mm bore, a 215 mm outside diameter and a width of 58 mm. Cylindrical roller bearings carry heavy radial loads, because the rollers touch the raceways along a line rather than at a point, and they suit high speeds. Depending on the design, they let the shaft move slightly along its length or locate it in one or both directions.

The last two digits of the number, 24, give the bore: 24 × 5 = 120 mm. Match the full designation, including any letters after the number, when you replace a bearing.

• NU 2224: Two ribs on the outer ring and none on the inner ring: a floating bearing that lets the shaft move along its length.
• Letters after the number: On SKF bearings EC marks the optimised internal design and the cage letter follows: J pressed steel, P polyamide, M machined brass. FAG writes E-XL and uses cage codes such as M1 or TVP2.
